About us

Varanda Azul means “blue veranda”. Ours is a long one, with hammocks and shade all afternoon, and it’s the heart of our family home in Barreirinhas: all eight rooms open onto it.

Breakfast is served out there, and it’s where we sit down with each guest to plan the days ahead: which trip to do first, what time to leave, what to pack.

Everything here is simple and unhurried. We welcome you the way we’d welcome friends at home.

Rooms and rates

Every room has a private bathroom, air conditioning and a door onto the veranda. Breakfast is included: cuscuz (a steamed cornmeal cake), tapioca (a cassava crêpe), fruit and local juices.

Double room

For couples who want to rest between trips.
- For 2 people
- 1 double bed
R$ 260 per night, with breakfast
Triple room

For three friends, or a couple travelling with a child.
- For up to 3 people
- 1 double bed and 1 single bed
R$ 340 per night, with breakfast
Family room

Space for the whole family, and for everyone’s luggage.
- For up to 4 people
- 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed
R$ 420 per night, with breakfast

In July and from 20 December to 10 January, each night costs R$ 60 more.

Getting here

From São Luís, the state capital, Barreirinhas is about 4 hours by road: by car, by bus or in a shared van.

We’re in the town centre, on a quiet street. When you’re on your way, send us a WhatsApp message and we’ll share our location and explain how to get here.

Common questions

How do I book?

On WhatsApp. Send us your dates and the number of guests, and we’ll reply with the available rooms and the total price. A 30% deposit by Pix confirms your booking.

Can you help us plan our trips?

Yes. Over breakfast, we’ll tell you how each trip works, when it leaves and who runs it. You book and pay the tour company directly.

Can I arrive before 2 pm?

Of course. If your room isn’t ready yet, leave your bags with us and relax in a hammock on the veranda.
